I’ve been working as part of the sales team for the German regions Rhineland-Palatinate, Hesse and Northern Bavaria for about five years and now even responsible for the Hanwag sales team. Hanwag is more than just an employer to me. The brand stands for what I am passionate about. As a keen hunter, I’m outdoors almost every day of the week. My favourite companion for intense tours is our TATRA TOP GTX. However, besides hunting, I’m interested in everything that has to do with sports. This winter I went hunting and stalking with skis and a gun in the Palatinate Forest (Pfälzer Wald), close to where I live – it was an exceptional experience.
Hanwag Research & Development
Although I’ve only been working with Hanwag since July 2016, the brand has always been part of my business and private life. Working in different positions for other companies in the outdoor industry, I’ve always kept an eye on Hanwag and its products. In my free time, I choose to wear Hanwag footwear. Whether in summer or winter, by myself, with friends or family, getting up into the mountains and experiencing nature is important to me. It allows me to compensate for the hectic nature of everyday life. What I like a lot about my job is when customers share their personal experiences with us, send us pictures from their expeditions or give feedback about our products. That’s really great.
I started working for the team in June 2016. At Hanwag marketing, I’m in charge of press work, social media and everything to do with content and stories. Our customers give us great feedback and like to tell us lots about their experiences with their Hanwag boots and shoes. There’s always a good story to tell. My favourite boot is the PATAMA LADY GTX® from our winter collection. It really does keep your feet warm. Coming from Bavaria, I love mountain sports – be it skiing or hiking. To me, the Alps stand for activity, friendliness and tradition – the perfect mix.
I’ve been working with Hanwag for about four years now and as the creative folk I’m – among other things – responsible for our events and photography at the marketing team. My whole life is about the mountains – be it five days a week at the office or during my free time at the weekends. The mountains are my haven. It’s the place where I feel free and at home at the same time. In addition, it’s where I can combine my two biggest hobbies: Mountaineering and photography. But I don’t only climb the mountains, I also like to fly them down – doing paragliding or ski touring. That’s also one of the reasons why our R&D team passes me some new boots from time to time for product tests and I’m coming back to the office with book full of notes on Monday morning.
As Hanwag apprentice and, being only 18 years old, I’m the team’s youngster. Since joining the company in 2016 I have gained experience in different departments. It was love at first sight between me, the brand and its products. I already loved going to the mountains together with my parents as a child. And today, I’m looking forward to those weekends hiking and climbing the mountains with colleagues, friends and our great Hanwag boots of course. In my job, I’m involved with different kinds of products and able to proof what I’ve learned every day. It’s exciting to travel a lot, work at trade shows, support our colleagues from Fjällräven in Sweden or climb Zugspitze during Hanwag Alpine Experience.
You could say I’m a real “Vierkirchener”. I’ve been with Hanwag for some ten years now. Currently I’m responsible for sourcing raw materials in the purchasing department. Be it leather, lace hooks, eyelets or soles – I’m in charge of ensuring that all our production sites around the world get the right materials. In addition, I’m also responsible for our trainees at Hanwag. I love spending time in the mountains to wind down and forget about work. Pick the right trail and there’s a good chance that you’ll be up there all by yourself, surrounded by nothing but nature. That’s what I call getting away from it all.
I joined Hanwag in 2016. I work in the Service and Repair department and am responsible for repairs, resoling and resolving complaints. When it comes to the correct way to care for our mountain boots and trekking shoes, I’m also the contact point for customers and retailers. I’ve known Hanwag ever since I was a kid, hiking in the mountains with the family and from hunting trips with my father. The mountains are still really important to me. No matter what time of year it is. I enjoy hiking and downhill or cross-country skiing. This helps me recharge my batteries for the week.
